Top 50 Under 50 - Griffith one of the world’s leading young universities

As Queensland’s only university to appear on all major university rankings*, Griffith University ranks in the top 400 globally and the top 50 universities under the age of 50.

At number 48 on the latest Times Higher Education 150 Under 50 Rankings, the university has seen a climb of 34 places on last years 82nd position.

Last month’s QS Subject Rankings saw Griffith placed within the top 100 institutions worldwide in nine different subject areas, proving the university to be on an impressive rise overall.

Professor Ian O’Connor, Vice Chancellor and President of Griffith University said that the university’s continued success in rankings helped in providing Griffith’s recognition as one of Australia’s leading tertiary education providers.

“Griffith is now in the top 50 in both the Times Higher Education and QS (37) Top 50 Under 50, one of two Queensland universities to achieve this distinction.”

“In addition, the University is now in the top 400 overall on all major world rankings.”

Last January in the Times Higher Education rankings, Griffith placed 102nd in a list of 800 of the world’s most international universities and 2nd in Queensland.

The Times Higher Education World Rankings for 2015-2016 named Griffith within the world’s top 300 universities in October of last year. The criteria for the rankings included a total of 13 performance indicators including research, citations, teaching, international outlook and industry engagement.

*The three major world rankings are the Academic Ranking of World Universities, QS World University Rankings and Times HE World University Rankings.
