Griffith University has once again earned a place as one of the region’s elite educational institutions, ranking in the top 50 of the Times Higher Education Asia-Pacific University Rankings 2018.

These regional rankings, first introduced last year, take into consideration the research and teaching efforts of over 250 leading universities and higher education institutions across the region, with Griffith University consolidating its position in 43rd place in 2018.

Reflecting on this prestigious ranking, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Ned Pankhurst remarked, “We are pleased to see Griffith once again take a place among the top 50 leading universities in the Asia-Pacific region.

"This result reflects Griffith's ongoing dedication to engaging in innovative, impactful research across the University's comprehensive range of disciplines, while delivering world-standard education opportunities and outcomes for our students."

Some of Griffith's recent research achievements include its contribution in forming Queensland’s new Climate Change Adaptation Plan, finding ways to turn food waste from the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games into super-dynamic compost, investigating the genetic causes of stuttering, hosting the International Student Research Forum, and delving into the dining habits of crocodiles in Northern Australia.

2018 has also witnessed countless remarkable results for the University’s students, alumni and faculty, including journalism placements at GC2018, international recognition for Griffith Film School productions, former Journalist In Residence Nance Haxton earning silver and bronze at the New York Festival's World's Best Radio Program awards, and several members of staff receiving Queen's Birthday honours.
