Griffith's MBA ranked #4 by BOSS Magazine
The 2015 Australian Financial Review’s BOSS Magazine Survey has ranked Griffith’s MBA in the top five programs in Australia.
Since 2013, the Griffith MBA has soared five places to now rank at number four within the highly esteemed biennial survey.
Six Queensland Universities feature in the country’s top eight programs, but Griffith’s MBA has experienced the biggest move, jumping to number four.
"This is a ringing endorsement of the outstanding quality and clear focus of our MBA," new Griffith MBA Director, Associate Professor Chris Fleming, said.
Associate Professor Fleming went on to state that a focus on responsible leadership, sustainable business practise, and a global orientation with an Asia Pacific focus is integral to how the Griffith MBA is delivered.
"We infuse our business leaders with these values, which are integrated through all of the MBA courses from sustainability to economics."
Associate Professor Fleming said that these principles have continued to be at the core of the program since they were introduced by his predecessor Professor Nick Barter.
"Our program is set apart from others because of our three core values which have remained constant as the program has been restructured and updated to meet the needs of modern, digital-savvy students," Associate Professor Fleming said.
Associate Professor Fleming also credits Professor Nick Barter for the other 'revolutionary' changes he made to the program.
"He initiated the move towards flexible learning, authentic assessment and a sustainable focus which has undoubtedly been appreciated by students who are clearly getting the experience that they want through the Griffith MBA."
Pro Vice Chancellor (Business), Professor Michael Powell, congratulated Chris Fleming, Nick Barter and the Griffith Business School team, and noted that this outcome mirrors the hard work behind the MBA program. He also expressed his satisfaction in the latest BOSS Magazine rankings.
"Today's outcome reflects our hard work to ensure the Griffith MBA is an attractive and relevant option for graduates seeking to shape and progress their careers," he said.
"The program has evolved and moved with the times to include features that distinguish it from others while still offering value for money in a competitive modern market."
"I'm delighted to see this recognised in the latest BOSS Magazine rankings."
He also commended the work of other Griffith staff in the achievement of this result, including teaching staff, program convenors, and Griffith Business School administrators "who have created the best educational experience for our students".
The Australian Financial Review BOSS magazine MBA rankings are determined via extensive surveys conducted with MBA alumni. The survey takes a wide range of categories into consideration, including networking opportunities, mode of delivery, teaching quality, how well students are prepared for current economic conditions, and value for money.
"The Australian business community holds the Financial Review in very high regard, so to be recognised on this stage is a major achievement for our MBA," Associate Professor Fleming said.
